PRINCIPLE AND INTEREST PAYABLE IN U. § GOLD COIN IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK, 00, 1u Coupon Bonds of 81,000 each. Amount of Issue, 87,336, The Bonds have Thirty Years to run, and are secured by a First Mortgage, constituting an absolute prior lien on that portion of the Road, Equipments, Franchises, and Entire Property of the Central Pacific Railroad Company, located in the State of California, and ex- tending from Sacramento City to the California State Line, forming a part of the GREAT Pacivic RAILROAD Rovtk, adopted and aided by the USITED BIATES GOVERNMENT. werse The amount of these First Mortgage Bouds to be issued per mile is limited by law to the amount of United Statos | Bonds allowed and jsened to wid the construetion of the Road, and the Mortgage by which they are sccured is declaved by Act of Congress to constitute a lien prior and superior to that of the United States Gorernment. The aid received from the Government (in amount equal to this First Mortgage) is economicelly and judi- nent of the Road, together with nearly $7,000,000 received from Stocl k Sabscriptions and other sources. First Mortgage therefore amounts to but about 35 per renl of the actual cost and value of the Property whiell it covers. The road is now completed, equipped and running from | Sacramento City to Alta, a distance of 73 miles, and the earnings for the three months ending August 18t were as | follows, viz L.$65,115 83 67,42 78 £5,000 00 June, 1866, July, 1866, IN GOLD. The earnings are steadily increasing, and are estimated | at over $100,000 in gold for the month of August—the offi- cial report for that mousth not baving been received at this date. The construction of the road is going vigosously for ward, miles additional being nearly ready for the cars, and it will probably oo in full eperation to the California | State line—156 miles from Sacramento City—durin mmer of 1807, when its earniogs must be very large, us the entire trade of Nevada, aud a large proportion of that of Utab, 1daho, and Montaua must pass over its line. It Las been shown by reliable statistics that in 1863 over | $13,000,000 iu gold was pald for freighting goods from Cali- foruia to Nevada alone. This part of the Great Pacific Railroad route is destined | to be one of the most profitable lines of ruilroad in the | world, and ite First Mortgag secured and most desirable iuvestments ever offered. Over $1,000,000 has already been expended in grading beyond the point to which the road is now runuing, and the iron is bonght and paid for sufficient to lay the track the entire distance 1o the State Live. The Road has been compicted and eq pped thus far | without the sale of & single dollar of its First Mortgage Bonds, and they are now offered to the public for the first time, after the earnings of the road have Led the sum of $100,000 per wonth, in gold, only about 25 per cent of 5. The Bouds are offered &t %5 per cent and acerued in terest from July 1, in carrency. to us direct, or through t all parts of the country. Remittances may be made in drafte on New-York, or in | Legal Tender Notes, Natiopal Bank Notes, or other funds carrent in this city, and the Bonds will be forwarded to any address by Express, free of cliarge.
