Erie snd Reading have been the sb- sorbing interest in “the “street. Erie opened at 71, and the same pressure to sell short we mnoticed yesterdsy, continged through the entire day, and large blocks of stock changed hands. The lowest quotation of tae day was 68}, closing at 69, aud the pressure to sell un- abated. Reading was largely dealt in, and the bull party bid'freely for the stock up to 114, and frightened the bears 10to covering their shorts, which they did st 114@114j; but as soon e this was done the stock broke to 113§, st which price there were large sales by the bulls.
