BARNEY WILLIAMS. PREPARATIONS FOR THE ¥FUNERAL—REMINIS- ENCES OF HIS EARLY STAGE LIFE. ‘The funeral of the tate Barney Williams wil! take place at eleven o'clock to-morrow morning, ‘rom St Stephea’s Roman Catholic church, in Twenty-eighth street, A solemn requiem mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Father McDowell, of St. Francis’ church, who wasan old friend of Mr. Williams. Tne music is ex- pected to be unusually fine, as the ordinary choir wil? be augmented by a number of artists from every branch of the profession. Among the pallbearers will be Mayor Wickham, Judge B Lester Wallack, Wille fam E, Robinson and Mr. Stephen J. Mahoney, All the theatres in New York and Brooklyn and some in Bos. ton and Philadelphia will be represented by the prin- cipal members of their stock companies, and it is ex- pected that the funeral will bring together the greatest gumber of dramatic celebrities that has been seen in New York for years. The Manhattan and Lotus clubs, of which Mr. Will- iams was a member, will adopt appropriate resolu- ham and Mr. M. LL. Marks, of the tatter body, been appointed to draw up a Suitable oxpreesion of the feeling of its members. Many beautifl floral offerings will be presented, and the Tuperal will be quite an imposing affair, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Florence returned yesterday morning trom Boston, and are stopping with Mrs, Will- jams. Both prisoners were committed, in default of $1,000 bail, for trial at General Sessions, CRUELTY TO AN ANIMALS. James Redpath, coachman to Mr. Eaward Cooper, wos arrested yesterday on a warrant for using a bit burr in his horse’s mouth. Tho burr consisted of a circular piece of leather with sbarp tacks protruding. James was held for trial Mr. John T. Conover wi arrested and gave bail for neglecting to properly cover over and secure the excavations im Sixth avenue, made for the foundations of the Gilbert Elevated Rail- road, Several accidents baa occurred by the negli- gence of the contractor, and Mr. Bergh’s officers ba been on duty day and night engaged in warning drive and preventing accidents, Francis Shanty, licensed vender No. 569, was found with a horse in such a con- dition that it had to be carried to the rendering dock in the ambulance and there destroyed.
