The report of the week is, in one sense, favora- ble. Deposits show an increase of over $4,000,000. ans have veen made to the extent of nearly $1,800,000, Specie has increased more than a qui ter of a million, notwithstanding recent large shipments, while deposits show an accumulation at this centre that 1s strongly saggestive of the idieness of capital. The totalreserve of the banks 1s $1,603,300 higher than ‘ast week, but, by reason of the increase in liabilities, the surplus reserve, $11,740,475, 1s only $591,300 bigher than then.
