THE MOST ACTIVE BUSINESS Was again done in Pacific Mall, which opened at BQ, sold at 32}¢ a 32% a 33% a 32% a 333, and finally at 334g. About 30,000 shares changed hands, Union Pacific was next on the list in point ot activity, and waa firmly upheld at 4034 a 40 and thence upward to 40%, Closing at 4035, Western Union sold at 73 a 72% and closed at 73%, and, like aome other stocks, was chiefly deait in by mem- bers of the Board who could make quick turas ana small profits without the payment of an exor- bitant commission. In fact, the rule whicn regu- lates the latter continues to withhold business irom the street. The transactions tn Wabash were moderate—only 3,500 shares—and the price ranged between 11% @ 11%, with a close at 11, “selier uxty.” Onio and Mississippi ranged from 26a 4 to 24,ending at 243%.
