The stock market was dull at the close, and without especial feature in the earlier part of the day. feit in the shape of Northwest common, which ad- vanced from 42% to 44%. The preferred stock sold at 61%. Lake Shore, heretoiore a favorite, declined to 79%, and the suspicion was frequently expressed that the cause of the weakness was due to the fact that instead of a four per cent. divi- dend {t is probable that only a three per cent. | dividend will be declared. THE UNITED STATES TREASURY. ‘The customs receipts to-day were $362,000. The receipts irom internal revenue were $560,000. The customs receipts for the week ending November @1 were $2,250,000, Six hundred and fifty thou- sand dollars national bank notes were received for redemption to-day. The assistant Treasurer paid out $95,000 on account of interest and $79,000 im redemption of five-twenty bonds. Treasury | balances :—Currency, $14,900,000; coin, $83,000,000 ; \ coin certificates, $23,330,000. Mr. Bigelow, »@Obtef of the Loan Branch of the Treasury, arrived in Washington November 27 trom London. He brings about 10,000,000 called bonds, and states the prospects of the Syndicate disposing of the bal- ance of new fives are very good. IMPORTS OF FOREIGN DRY GOODS. The total imports of foreign ary goods at this port for the week ending to-day were $1,283,974, and the amount marketed $1,241,418.
