RINAACAL AND COMMERCIL ——e———— Tuaake Shore the S Market. —-———+-- GOLD 1009 The Balance of the Without Interest. WALL Srreet, WepnespAy, July 22-0 P.M. Lake Shore virtually constituted the tock 7-8 A lo. This was the central point of interest at the opening of tae market in Consequence of the announced meeting of the Executive Committee to-day, with the two ques- tions of a lease and a dividend to be considered, The early dealings in the stock were at 7: 2g and 78, batin the afternoon, when it was rumorea there would be no dividend paid, the stock went Of from 73% to 7134. The rest of the murket of course sympathized in this decline, prices going of about ¥% to 4% per cent. Shortly before one o’clock Lake Shore rallied to 7234, the whole market recoveriug slightly im sympathy, but atthe second board taire was A DECLINE 10 71}, and the uther shares were correspondingly weak again. The ‘bears’? have to hammer the stock upon that the dividend was passed- nothing now Respecting the proposed lease of Lake Shore by New York Central | further but nothing was learned of tie action of the meeting, if any, but it ts said that the Commodore still cher- ishes the idea and that that was one of for passing the dividend to-day, his reasons ‘Tne total sales of ail shares to-day were 86,300, distributed as shown in the subjoined table:— No, of Highest.
