Wheat was scarce and firmer, but closed quiet, There was some Kittle inquiry for lots to arrive, but at re- duced prices. Corn was without decided change, but closed firm. Oats were quiet at the close, though rather firmer at the opening of ‘Change. Whisk@r was firmer. Pork and lard were decidedly stronger and rather more wanted for tuture delivery. Groceries were quiet, but values were not quotably changed. Cotton was dull both on the spot and for future delivery. Ocean freights were firm and active in the chartering Lnes, Petroleum remained dull, with prices nominally steady. Naval stores were in fairdemand and drmer.
