THE UNITED STATES TREASURY. * ‘The internal revenue receipts to-day were $491,- 330; for the month, $3,437,083; an increase over April, 1873, of $872,109, The customs receipts day were $364,000, The Assistant Treasurer pail out $440,000 on account of interest, and $82,000 in redemption of 5-20 bonds. THE FUREIGN MARKET, London advices report a further decrease of bullion in the Bank of England to-day of £23,000 and of £384,000 during the past week. It is but natural that, under such a condition, at the regular weekly meeting of the Governors this morning the Fate of discount should have been ad- vanced to 4 per cent. Yesterday the rate for prime three months’ discount at the London banks ‘was 344 percent. To-day the supply at this rate is abundant and securities are firm. United States bonds are and % higher,and the market for consols is more than steady. We quote:—Consols for money, 925; a 92%; consols for account, 92% 292 13-16; five-twenty bonds of 1865, old, 106%; five-twenty bonds of 1867, 109 a 10944; ten-forty bonds, 10434; new fives, 10434 a 10434; Erie Rail- way sbares, 313 a 3144; New York Central, 88% 89. The specie in the Bank of France has in- creased 11,399,000 francs during the past week.
