Lizzie Lioyd King, Alias Kate Stoddard, at the Raymond Street Jail. Areporter of the HERALD called at the Kings County Jail yesterday to ascertain if any- thing of interest had transpired since Satur- day. The keepers stated that nothing remarkable had occurred. Lizzie King, alias Kate Stoddard, had, they said, lost two of her companions, Mrs. Burgess and Mrs. Simmons having been pardoned by the Governor. These women, it will be remem- bered, were imprisoned for trying to aid their hus- bands, who were arrested for forgery, to escape. The only companion she has now is Mrs. Fanny Hyde, who is awaiting her second trial for the kill- ing of George W. Watson. A large number of persons called at the jai yesterday and expressed a desire to see Miss King, but with one or two exceptions she re- fused to see any of the callers. Among others who called was Dr. T. P. Norris. He had a pleasant in- terview with her; says he found her a highly intel- ligent woman, but excitable in her temperament and Hable to commit any act, regardless of the con- sequence, while under excitement. it was expected that some of her relatives from Plymouth would visit her, but up to last evening | none had arrived. She did not, however, appear to be di nted on that account, but she was exceedingly disappointed because the authorities had retained one of her trunks, There were arti- cles in it which she wanted, and she expected to get it er ag night, When sie found she was. hot to get it she threw herself over one R, | of her trunks and remained weeping in that oe . until four o’clock yesterday morning. he said :—“I don’t know why they should comfis- cate that trank, for there was nothing in it which would be of interest or value to any one but = self. It had a little music box in it which | thou; @ great deal ee =a Wanted.” She talked apout ne oon the en: nd said she felt so annoyed hoary that ehe could = i sleen. were two services econ adel fe Catholic the mand at ns J tea eFciock te Re testant, preac! vas service was attended. ia itzale King ne and | Fanny Hyde. Im the afternoon Miss Adeline Palm called at the jail and remained with Lizzie umtil late in the evening. She stated that she had no other ov.
