HORLa NOTES. We have received the entries for the various sweepstakes ‘and handicaps that closed on March 1. They all fillea well, and the racing prospects for 1873 are as bright as could possibly be wished, ‘Phe Fordham Handicap has thirty-eight entries; the Jockey Club Sweepstakes, twenty-six; the Westchester Cup, eighteen, and the Hunters Stakes, twenty-turee. The Saratoga events closed a8 foNews:—Sweep. stakes for all ages, mile and a quarter, fiftecn; Flash Stakes, twenty-nine; Saratega Cup, filteen; Sequel Stakes, nineteen; Summer Handicap, twen- ‘ty-six, and sweepstakes for two-year-olds, twenty- four. We hear from Spring Station, Ky., that Mr. Swigert has scld his brown ftallion Captain Jenks, four years ot, by Woodford Mambrino, dam Kitty Kirkman, to a gentleman ‘of Evansville, Ind. Mr. Swigert also sold his entire herd of Alderneys to Mr. L. S. Hardimg, of Louisville, Ky.
