Nine Frame Structures Destroyed—Loss About $11,000. About nine o’clock yesterday morning flames Were discovered Issuing from the frame buiid.ng No. 484 Clermont avenue, occupied as a stable, aud owned by Henry A. Rosenthal. The structure had een vacated but ten minutes previous by the ewner, and, as there was no stove or fire in the Place, the origin of the conflagration is en- veloped in mystery. The building, together With its contents, including a norse, was burned down, involving a loss of $1,500; insured in the Germania Company for $850. The flames com- Ranissced canned and propelied by the strong larch wind prevailing at the time—to the adjoin- ang stables on that avenue, and from thence toa gow of frame tenement houses on Adelphi street, turning several families out of doors, with their hhumble effects upon the bleak sidewalk. Nine structures in all were burned down or damaged by the warping and absorbing tongue of the fire fiend. From Rosenthal’s Stable the flames Jeaped to the stavles of R. Longman & Sons, No. 486 Clermont avenue, causing loss on building and stock of $500; insured for $5,060 on building and $2,500 on stock in the Astor Company. Thence the fire spread to the stable No. 482 Clermont avenue, occupied by George Loude! ‘whose joss on stock and building proved $1,0.0; insured in the American Company for $2,000. No. 485 Clermont avenue, leased as a plumber's shop by Charles Robins, was damaged to the | tune of $40); msured m the Pacific Company for $1,000. Walter Robius, carpenter, who occupied rt of this structure, lust $150 worth of wois, and ‘iliam J. MORTALITY IN BREOKLYN. During the past week there were 185 deaths re- jeorded at the Brooklyn Bureau of Vital Statistics, being a decrease of 12 as compared with the pre- «ceding week.
