THE JOURNEY FROM WASHINGTON TO HARTFORD, The programme of the journey as now arranged ‘was to leave tals city by specta! car, attached to the regilur nine o'clock evening express for New York. At Jersey City the Presideat will be met by Governor Jewell and a few other friends. The party w:ll drtve immediately to the Lotel wh re they Wil breakfast, Betweeu eight and pine o'clock we party will proceed to the depot of the New York and New Haven Railroad and leave by special train. ‘The train will stop at Stamford, Norwalk, Bridge- port and New Haven. Atthe latter point the Presi- Gent will be received by Goveraor Eng ish. After a brief intercaange of civilities the “special” ‘Will proceed by the New Haven, Hartford aad Spring- Held Ratiroad to Hartiord, stopping on the way at Meriden and Berlin. It would be impossibie to state ‘the hour of arrival precisciy, though it is intended to reach Hartford about ono o clock. THE ARRIVAL AT HARTFORD. The President has not been advised of the for- Malities to be observed, or whether any, upon his @rrival at Hartiord. It 1s possibie, owing to the heat, that all ceremony will be dispeused with at that hour ofthe day.
