Yerger Relen-ed on Bail—The Judge Does Not Think the Testimony Warranted a Conviction for Muider. JACKSON, April 19, 1870, E. M. Yerger, was brought before Cmef Justice Shackelford, of une Court of Missiestppl, on a writ of habeas corpus anc released on giving recognizances to the amount of $15,000. ‘The evidence taken be- fore the military commi.sion for the prosecution was read and submitted without argument. A County Treasurer’s Safe Blown Open— Thirty-five Thousand Dollars of Public Fands Stolen. TERRA HAUTE, April 19, 1870. The safe ia the office of the County Treasurer at Newport, Vermilion county, was broken open last night and robbed of $35,000 In currency. All the money belonged to the county. The joo has every appearance of having been done by accoiplished burglars. The County Commissioners offer a heavy reward for the arrest of the thieves or the recovery of the money.
