Examivation ia the Case—Recommittal of the Prisoner. Yesterday morning Mr. Charles B. Hotchxiss, President of the Pequonnock National Bank, of Bridgeport, Conn., appeared before Judge Hogan and made an affidavit concerning the larceny of United States registered government coupon bonds, railroad bonds, bank stock, promissory notes and a variety of other securities, amounting in the aggre- gate to $95,000, stolen from his bank on or about the 30th day of November last. All this property be- longed to Mr. Hotchkiss individually, and not to the bank, as has heretofore been stated. Mr. Hotchkiss, in his aMdavit, charged all the defendants—David Rosenstein, Augustus Moro, Igna- tius Wasserman and Bernard Rice, whose arrest was published in yesterday’s HFRALD—with the larceny, tmasmuch as one of the $1,090 bonds stolen from the bank was traced to the possession of all the de- fendants. Richard Field, detective of the Fifth preeinct, de- posed that on the 234 instant he arrested Rosen- stein, and, upon searching him at the Bighth ward station house, found a $1,000 United States bond; that he (Rosenstein) admitted to deponent that be had attempted to sell it See eT ote ser: creo sou that defendant fren Moro, who said rocured the bo! comld show pe liveds tint ne Moro} to try it. the witnens. who stated that he received the of Rice; it over to Moro; that he ived the bond from Ri aud had tiven It to Moro, w called to return wok Ly : a N 54 Pine street, wi : out ro reat- one ‘Moro with arrest Wav oh ae aah Ina "Aepo- nent arrested Rice and showed him the $1,000 sto! After the production of the above testimony for the prosecution counsel for the defendants moved for the discharge of their clients; but after listening to arguments tL 9d Hogan denied the motion, whereupon counsel demanded an examination, which was granted. No time for the hearing bas yet been named. In the meantime the defendants were com- mitted to the of Captain Petty, who detans them io the L. rd street police station, at GAS COMMISS'ONERS.
