At the meeting of this Board yesterday Messrs, Bon- ney, Martindale and Stewart were present and the fol- lowing claims were argued :— r) Herman Fleitmann presented a claim for $147 27 against the city on the ground that that amount of money had been paid by him, im obedience to an order from the Comptroller, im liquidation of a cla:m whieh had previously been adjusted, but which, owing to soma mogligence on the part of some servant of the city, ‘and not been properly recorded. 1t appoared that a certain Plece of property on Eighty-fourth street, Teath avenue, belonging to a Mrs, Freund, had beon, assessed, for the opening of Central Park, that Wie property had beom purchased by Fleitmana, Subsaquent to this purchase the motice to settle the claim for sssessment was served on Fieitmann, although a reeeips had been given which, he claimed, showed that the asscximont had been paid, but in order to save himself w great amount of inconventence he had paid theclaiva under Protent, for the Corporation Counsel, claljned that Air. Raiph Boyt presented a claim against the city for $191 50 for taxes assessed on the Church o! the Geod Shepherd, in Fast Fifty-fourth street. Mr. Hoyt based bis claim on # resolution passed by the Cominon Coun- cil, by which the amount of the assessment was donated to the church. He liad not paid the assessment, but bad been obliged ,to pay mterest en the amount assessed, simply becagse the resviution donating (ue amount, ana thereby virally liquidating the assesm nt, did nob contain any clnuse which would, im letter, cover the amount of int>rest on tho assessment. Tho case of Timothy O'Toole for $300 for wages due Joun O'foole, as Inspector of Encumbrances under Street Inspector Furey in 1855, was presented, and the testimony of the widow of John O'Yoole was heard and farther investigation of the claim laid over, .
