FINANCIAL AND COMMERCIAL. Wapnaspay, Nov. 14-6 P. M. ‘The stock market has Been weak and Irregular in ite movements to-day, but there have been no symptoms of panic, although it has been hammered vigorously by the late and intending bulis who are at present bears with the view of promoting the decline. The latter has been probably greater than those pulling the wires expected, but there is every indication that it has now nearly, if not entirely, “touched bottom.” It is, however, no- ticeable that the real bulls are not very bullish in thetr expressions of feeling, thelr object being apparently if pos- sible to still further draw out ‘‘shorts” and shake stocks out of the hands of weak holders. Doubtless many of the latter bave already been induced to sell out, while not a few of them have gone short in anticipation of a further fall; but there’ is every reason why @ sharp rally should follow the present-speculative depression, and those who think the fali speculation for @ riee is.at an end are likely to find themselves very much mistaken. The same conditions which were applicable to the railway. share market before the recent decline are applicable now, and they are all favorable toa further rise. The |’ subjoined table shows that the principal speculative shares are from fifteen to fifty per cent lower than they were in March, 1864:— Fi cag 7 1864, Nov. 14, 1866. — New York Central, 13 Erie. a ax ae 127 ‘ane Readi 114% ‘ Michigan 112% 4436 Mich: 8045 32 mu tral... 12234 15: ‘and Pittsburg. eT ene Nortientam oo 5 36 lorthwestern. preferred. u Boek Island. 10736 P ‘ort Wayne. 10735 45: At the ten o'clock open board New York.
