ALBANY, August 19, 1865, ‘The form of a telegraphic despatch did not convenient- ly admit of my transmitting to you all the details and matters of interest relative to the meeting here this week of the Democratic State Central Committee. the scope of conversation here on that occasion embraced ‘every bearing of the fall campaign, as well as the general aspect of the whole field of politics, 1 propose to add to my telegram somo explanatory details in this letter re- &. garding these subjects. THR PARTY MANAGRMENT—PRESENT PERSONNEL OF TUE DEMOCRATIC REGENCY. The management and prospects of the democracy in this State have undergone an entire and absolute change. The secret instigating centro, and the worst drag which the party had, was the influence of Erastus Corning. For years the power of the Central Railroad, with its ‘vast ramifications from one end of the Siate to the otber, was wielded by Corning, and made the centre of a selfish conspiracy through which he coerced the regular conven- tions of the party and made it subservient to selfish, narrow views and absurd family interests. Around this Clique @ Httle would-be patrician oligarchy had collected, with its-social centre at Albany, and for some years past they have perched themselves upon the ruins of the great democratic edifice and stabled their animals in its porticos, like a nest of brigands or lazzaroni in the de- gerted palaces of a struck out a line former of that communication :— ‘The Seward-Weed Regency, transferred to Now York city, has vacated its old headquarters at Albany, loaving the radicals and Loyal Leaguers in possession of the Biveriing Journal and the State offices under Fenton, ‘Woed and his Rogency having taken up position in the Piiropolia.as the true centre of politics, look to the fed- eral patronage, the strict support of the administration, even the renomination of Andy Johaso: th ‘of which tho New York Timer is: tando’ more oF \ lees a mouthpiece division E creed, “the discordant split is ae hand ‘which on of the ‘ons w The cont hold Uh Andy ‘lew Inv! will have control of ft, or their antagonisis will be " ching the Hees rks’eat etl fesse carey | ie, aad ators Doyle and Coser armed ve try Fhe emiaad AD,S ctunit Ghent | qveram mt coy ay thal ag ng a Salas Sg eas © eeere wutrage reese: | from nine to thirteen years of age, pansed Timothy ANB, f- Bigy the seaterty love another view, cod \¢ wen, Sueey frortation to retugees ix simply encouraging them in The power of Weed is alroady felt in the proposed Timothy O'Toole, Patrick Barry, Joha Greenwood and pve bagi fe - ‘eel —. wiil aa yo br ‘thero should be a quietus put immoe- ment of the distinctive do, if uni sul nce McCarthy, on the charge of baring broken into om and counsel sere aes , - a oF. fine, and Should. this bo repudiated by the Now York | tho cigar. store ot, Nears Stevens E'Granyn, ‘No. 30 | county sod thus promote a humano and practical move- 1m 6.078% OP TL TERT OT oy tion, Grecle ke, Androws, Dudley | Broome street, on Sunday last, and steading ctxars, meer- | mont se Tho ald spitit of rebeliton 1s by BO Field, Ben: Feld’ tat, ey, Opa Ke, Andrew and try | Chane pipen cigar holders, &e., valued ¢ $20. Railroad Company ejected Corning from the Presidency of that concern, and Richmond took his legitimate posi- tion in place of Corning, leaving the latter well entangled in the toils of a lawsuit with the road, for alleged com- missions and profits on purchases for the company, to the amount of many hundreds of thousands, which he or his partners were not entitled to acquire in view of his official connection with the Central Railroad.
