State stocks and railroad bonds were “Gull, but steady. Bank stocks were negiected. After the board the market continued heavy. At the sepond board the market was considesably lower, with.a very unsettied and excit®d feeling, indi- @ating locreasing weakness. Erie was 1% lower than at ‘be frst board, New York Central 124, Hudsom River 1, Beading 43, Michigan Central 1, Michigan Southern 33, Ditwois Central 134, Cloveland and Pittsburg 8K, Chicago @ad Nortnwestera 34, preferrea %, Rock Isiand %, Fort Wayne , Cumberland Coal 4. ‘The excitement almost amounted to panic after the @all, and a further recession of prices took place at the ©pen board at haif-past three. Erie then sold at 86%, York Central 109, Budson River 108¥'Michigan thera 50%, Illinois Ceatral 1091,, Reading 115. The market continued weak and excited on the street after- wards. Gold opened at 192%, then sold down to 190, and Feached gradually to 1915, which was the’ price Bt tev minutes past three P.M. Thomas, with twenty- five thousand men, had left Atlants to make a junction with General Burbridge, with twolve thousand men, at Bull’s Gap, and co-operate with Sheridan'on the soutb- west side of Lynchburg. The unpaid requisitions show a reduction of $44,153,686, which accounts for the large issue of com ound interest notes, the increase in the latter being §56,440,000, as the’currency comparison will show.
