The market closed weak and feverish, Government securities are steady. ‘There was no settled price for gold today. It varied from 210 to 230, and sales were reported even higher Some of the beavieet bullion brokers refused to buy or fell until the market became settled. Late in the afters Qoon brokers were buying at 205 and selling at 210. The steamship Olympus, for Europe, took $178,202. ‘There was a large amount of business transacted at the ‘Sub-Treagury to-day. The Assistant Treasurer reports as follows :-— Receipts. . 114, 782 —For customs $516, $000 —For 6 per cent bonds. 72 000 Payments. 18,749, 028 nce. + 86,701,800 According to an vfficial statoment, the total debt of the ‘Tinited States, including bonds, seven and three-tenths and ‘Treasury notes, legal tender, fractional currency and un paid requisitious, amounted, on the 14th of June, 18644. to $1,719,395,168. The total annual interest is $71,699,730, of which amount $50,823,672 is payable in coin, The July dividends of the Chemical and Tradesmen’s banks are six per cent; of the Metropolitan, Chatham and North Kiver, five per cent, and of the Irving, Bank of North America and Market, four percent. The Broadway Bank pays six, with an extra premium of four per cent. The Mariners’ Savings Bank will pay, 2lst July, a semi- annual divideod of six and five per cent. The coupons of the first mortgage bonds of the Mariposa Company will be paid ist July ia gold. The Michigan Central Railroad will pay, July 1, a divi- dend of six per cent, free of tax. The Columbian Marine Insurance Company of New York have declared a semi-annual! dividend of three ad a hulf per cent on the cash capital of their stock, payable on the Ist of July.
