Government stocks have improved somewhat during the past week, every one of them clesing yesterday at an advance upon the prices of the Saturday previous, Tne Biate stocks have beea but slightly altered. Raliroad and Other stocks have been very leverish dur- ing tho week, doubtless owiag to the great changes in Barlom, which, on Monday, opened at 145, # higher rate than on Ube previous Saturday ; rose to 1401, then closed St 14454. On Tuesday the last quotations were 150; 03 Wednesday, after dropping to 130, closed st 136; on ‘Thureday the opening rates were 137, closing at 13444 ;on Friday the stock fellas tow as 122, but closed with a Slight advance, and on Saturday it fell rapiiiy to 101, At the public board the operators tried to raise it, and a fow shares were sold at 107%, bot this price cannot be considered as the market rate. Pacific Mail bas fallen during the week 54;, New York Central 17, Frie 14, Hudson River 14%, Michigan Southern 1, Rock Island &%, Terre Haute $g, and Cumberland Coal 2, Erie preferred bss advanced 1, Reading 1%, Michigan Central 14, llivois Control 8%, Cleveland and Pittsburg 1X, Fort Wayne 114%, Galena 1, Clevelana and Toledo 2%, Prairie du Chien 35g, Chicago and Alton 6, North. western 155, Canton 35, Quicksilver 41¢ and Mariposa 1, Michigan Boutborn, although fallen 1, is 123, above the rates of March 12, and 16% above March 5, Fort Wayve hus been rapidly increasing every week since February 20, and is noarly fifty per cont above that day’s quota- ons.
