Jackson refused to fight; but some skirmishing oceurred, in which we bad seven men wounded. General Fremont then entered and took possession of the town of Stras burg. The battle at Fair Oaks was renewed by our troops with reinforcements. The fighting was desperate, and the enemy wero driven at the point of the bayonet fromthe Position thoy bat gained the previous day, aud two miles beyond.
