WHOLE NO. 9477. INTERESTING FROM NEW ORLEANS. Arrival of the Steamship Blackstone. Official and Full Report of the Battle of Baton Rouge. Complete List of Hilled, Wounded and Missing, &e., &e., &o. ‘The steamship Blackstone, Captain Stevens, from New Orleans August 13, arrived at this port yesterday. She left at the Passes the following government trans- Poris:—Ships W. H. Wharton, Mount Blane, Riga, Okolo- ma; bark Texana and brig Experiment; also a Spanish transport, with supplics fur the Spanish fleet, was passed going up, at the Corts; also ship W. H. Wharton, of New York. The steamship Cardenas was lying at quarantino geur days, from Havana, and would remain there till the frost appeared. The Blackstone passed the bar at seven P. M., August 18, and has on board the remains of Colonel Geo. T. Roberts, of the Seventis Vermont Volunteers, who was Kilied in action at the battle of Baton Rouge, on the 3d inst. She encountered severe weather in the gulf stream, and was delayed by @ tremendous sea, which prevailed, with northerly gales, for forty-eight hours, and was obliged to reu to Delaware breakwater for a supply of eoal. During the gule the vossel_ gave ample proof of her splendid sea going qualities She sailed from the break- ‘water atsevon P. Nicholvon, formerly « United States Senator from this State, was, until a few days past, o resident of this county, and lived within a (ew miles ot this city. Since the rebellion broke loose in this State Nicholson has been a strong sympathizer with the South, though he has taken no active band in the work, his sudden patriotism breaking out inthe mouth, and then settling in the pocket, where it has become chronic.
