It shows, as we stated a couple of weeks since, that the company is in better hands than it was some time ago, and that its business is improving. The following table will show how much money it earned last year:— Groes earnings Working expenses. This floating debt is stated in the report to be in process of reduction. The last report stated it at $1,086,783; the present one states that, exclusive of coupons overdue, and after deducting available assets, it amounts to $437,886. The amount of overdue coupons appears to be $144,428, and the available assets which, with the exception of one small item, al! seem to be really available, amount to $165,197. The total amount of funded debt, as stated in this report, is $9,690,000; last year it was $9,531,000; increase of funded debt, $159,000. There does not seem to have been any increase in either the com- mon or the guaranteed stock since last year, and the following table will show what the road now stands in its owners:— Capital stock. f Capital stock—Guaranteed 13,800 Funded t 9,714,704 Floating debt. ai 457,886 Overdue coupons, to be funded + 130,905 This, fora road which earns $2,000,000 a year, is not such a bad show.
