In your iesue of the 16th you give an apparently mi- nute and accurate account of a fire at No. 106 Orange street, Brooklyn, a manufactory of hoop skirts, and of the rescue of Anne Trenor by a membef of Engine Company No. 3. Your statement of the fire does Hook and Ladder Company No. 1, of Brooklyn, great injustice. The mem- bers of that company were at the fire, and Mr. Charles €. Bagley, a member of that company, was the first to enter the building, followed by the member of Engine Company No.3 Mr. Bagley broke open the door of the room in the fifth story, where Anne frenor slept, and although the ‘oom was tilled with smoke, groped his way to the end of the room where Le found the almost lifeless body of Aane Trenor, and carried her to the street, and thereby saved her life by his heroie exertions.
