Tho Niaga rans left Troy on Monday evening for Philadelphia, where they arrived on Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock. It was announced that the Niagarans would weach Brooklyn, via Jersey City, at twelve o'clock yester- Gay, but in copsequence of losing the carly train they did not etart from Philadclpbia till nine o'clock A.M. At about two o'clock they passed the Herarp oflice, on the Neesau street front, and proceeded down Fulton street to ‘Be ferry, where they embarked for Brooklyn. The members of the Niagara Company numbered forty-ono men—and very large men they are at that, showing that the Trojans can wouster fine specimens of muscular force, ae a proof of which they. had with them no less & personage than . John Mor- Fissey, the champion of America, who is an honorary member of this company. Mr. Morrissey, however, ro- mained in Now Yori city, and did not cross the ferry with ‘the rest. He was in uniform. Doring’s Band, of reven- ‘Yeon pieces, accompanied the firemen. Capt. Consequently, urcer a irivolous pretext, the com; ay's were driven from tbe houses and lands oc: generally lower. Private letters from London allude to the speculation in Hlinois Central, and say that the belief in the value of the property is quite likely to carry prices to 15 discount before many days. Hudson River declined half per cent this morning, closing 564 bid, against 57 at the close yesterday. There is very little doing in Pa- nama or Pacilic Mail, and prices do not vary per- ceptibly from day te day. The panic about the opposition line has pretty well subsided; it was ri- dieulous.
