Up to the close of business hours to-day 39,716 shares have been presented at the office of the company and iden- tified as genuine. The mystery is thus as myste rious as ever. The inducement has been so strong for holders of the stock to send in their certificates since the rumor of an overissue was first set afoot, that the uon-appearance of any suspicious certifi- cates, and the slow presentation even of the authorized capital, would seem to argue that the fraud, if any there be, is small in amount. In the atreet, people seem to have concluded, from premises anknown to us, that there has been an overissue of about 2,000 s 2,500 shares. If so, the holders of this amount of stock are strongly indifferent to the importance of sending in their certificates to have them stamped as genuine. Nothing farther has been heard of Hoffman.
