In the evening the Guard gave an clogant banquet at the Metropolitan Hotet, under the immodiato direction of Warren Leland. Among the guests present were Col. M. Van Buren, Lieut. Col. Thomas C. Ferris, Major Hallock, all of the Ninth rogiment; Dr. F. Willia Kahor, Banke, Adjutant — and others. Three bles wore spread with all the delicacies of the season. ‘Tho tables were aleo neatly decorated with tlowers, and orna- mented with figures representing Independence Temple, floral cornucopia, fortification, scroll py- |, tropic temple, mounted cottage, Marengo wate |, &c. The supper room wns festooned flags and streamers, and at the end of the room wore two wooden figures, lifo size, represonting a member of the Guard at arms’ and the other at “present.” They had a very fine effvct.
