It adds, there only remain for distribution 75,000,009 of obligations necessary for the execution of the works of IBOS, apd that a subteription will be opened for the “obl. gations.” Upon this the London Times remarks:— As regards the pending issue of French railway obliga tions, it now appears that the stop taken by the Bank o Prante amouste to th the daily rain of bonds, the varions railway companire, aed inviting a #uvacripiion for the whole of remainder at a fixed price { #)our “11. We are happy to hear that there is no ground for supposing that anything has gone amiss in the financial affairs of this company. Harlem rose to 11], a rise of 1} per cent within the past day or two. The pending law- suit on the right of this company to ran cars down the Fourth avenue to Twenty-seventh street will no doubt shortly be decided. The prevailing im- pression is that the decision will be favorable to the company, as it woul d seem absurd to curtail the com- papy’s privileges and inconvenience the large class of persons who come into the city over the Harlem every day, merely for the satisfaction of a few pro- perty holders on Murray Hill, who purchased there after the railroad was in operation. There was asale of Nicaragua Transit at 24, an improvement of }onthe last sale. We note also asale of ten shares of Cumberland at 184. Milwaukie and Mis- issippi rallied to 17 from the depression of yester. day. Itissaid that there isa hope of extricating this concern from the embarrassment under which it labors. There was no activity in the bond mar. ket, and no change of prices, except in La Crosse and Milwaukie land grant bonds, which declined 4 percent. Respecting the present condition of this enterprise we have received the following from a well informed source :— of the La Crosse and Milwaukie Railroad land grant bonas due ist of ‘August next. Iv common with all unfinished roads, the La Crosse com- pany incurred great sacrifices of its fecuries during the jate revulsion. After the board the market was firm, but dull. At the second board the business done was exceedingly small, without change in prices. No vitality can be discovered in the stock market, and until some change of a radical kind takes place it will be equally unprofitable for the brokers and their few customers. The closing prices at Kowalski’s were: New York Central, 85); Erie, 18; Harlem, 11}; Had- son, 284; Harlem, 11j; Reading, 45; Michigan Cen- tral, 58); Michigan Southern, 223; Panama, 105); Illinois Central, 74}; Galena, 893; Toledo, 36{; Rock Island, 76}; Milwaukie and Mississippi, 17}.
