Dr. Robinson wili be well treated on the route, and safely deliverea to (he proper authorities at Lecomp- ten, to be fairly tried, and, if guilty, fairly punished, But it would be aifectation to deny that thera is a deep and earnest feeling of dislike and indignation at the po- Bitical course which he bas pursued in Kansas pervading the entire pro-siavery community. Mr. Shannon retuzed to give an immediate answer to this offer. Governor Shannon had called out the troops and station- ed them at different points. The Missourians were re- turning home. We have the following additional particulars from Iawrence. After the burning of the hotel and the Herald of Freedom office, Governor Robinaon’s house was fired, but extinguished before entirely consumed. Sheriff Jones then dismissed his posse, when they immediately rushed into the stores and dwellings in the place, remoy- ing every thing valuable and destroying everything not re- moveable. ‘The Post office was broken open and the iet- ters seized. All the houses of free State men were pil- aged, except the Cincinnati Hotel. Messrs. Buford, Springfeliow and Atshison were conspicuous during the day. Governor Shannon was absent. Tre posse of Jones le't the city at sunset, ke informing them that he should need their services tho next day. It is supposed that the fire seen on Wednenday night was the burning of Gov.
