The abundance of money has given great confidence to holders, and buyers are daily in- creasing in numbers, The tendency of prices is decidedly upward. All the leading stocks were in demand at the close yesterday, and speculators have become perfectly incifferemt to the absurd political rumors which almost daily emanate from Washington. One half or more of the reports :egarding our foreign relations or g'nate in the imagination of some outside po utica! demagogue, and ere worta no more than all the ot'er pot house gos- sip ro plenty at Washington and otver political centres, For some weeks past Wall street has been at times ex- cited by rumors of war with Great Britain, but they have now lost their effect, and the bears will be forced to in- vent come new way of getting ups panic. The tendency of prices for stocks is upward, and the tendency of the money market is towards greater ease. An occasional cloud may obscure the horizon, but it will soon pass jay aud leave all things clear and bright again. We fl have, in a tew months, an immense amount of capi- tal seeking investment, and the most prominent stocks in the market must de in demand at greatly augmented Prices. A. H. The profits of the year were thus:—$633,014: out of which come interest on Sta‘e loans, $297,860; 1 per cent to sinking funds, $50,000; 7 per ceat cividend to stockholders, $360,500; loss on lease of Pittsfield and North Adams road, $1,208—in all, $709,749—which cre- ‘stes a minus on the year’s sccounts of $76,735.
