Bostow, Sept 12. 1858. ‘The great Temperance Convention met in the lirge hall ef Tremont Temple this evening, at half past seven + @’olock, Hen. Elisha Huntington, of Lowell, in tho hair. A resolution was passed deciariog that this is a com- ‘yention of men, according to common usage. A good deal of opposition was made to the acceptance of this erder, but 20 debate ensued. Speeches were made by the Prosident, Horace Mann: Rev. Mr. Chapin, and Rev. Theodore Parker. Tomerrow the Convention mects at 9 A.
