MONEY MARKET. ‘Tunepay, Maroh 29—€ P. M, ‘There was « farther improvement in some descrip" “Tons of stocks to-day, and the general aspect of af fa Wall street was somewhat more cheering had been the case for some days previous. The maarket for foreign exchange was rather firmer, and 8 moderate business was transacted in the early part of the day, for the steamer which leaves Boston to- jnorrew; but it is understood that a odnaiderable meant of remittances will be deferred until Satar- day, in consequence of the non-arrival of the mails from the Seath, some seven or eight of which are be- hind their time. Money was easier, probably owing to the disposition manifested by various banks to dis" count more liberally. The only deoline which we noticed at the first board to-day was that of the Nicaragua Transit Company, which went down j. This steady in- reas’ denotes a healthy state of commercial affairs, Band there is every probability of its continuing. The Board of Trade table, for the month ending February 6th, in each of the past two yoars, shows mot only an aggregatedncrease in the value of ex- perts, but in nearly every article enumerated. This increase is distributed with remarkable evenness over all the principal branches of industry. Shipments to Australia have evidently ex- _ ereised an important influence in making up the aggregate. What the result of this branch of the export trade will be, time only will determine. In the meantime, exportation to Australia will go on, without mach ifany abatement, in the face of all misgivings suggested by the extent of the transac- tions already reported. The amount of articles im- ported and taken into general consumption shows a general increase. Grain of all kinds, as well as most descriptions of food, has been largely taken.
