On the 2d July the roud was formally cpened to Phillipsburg, the terminus opposite Easton, Pa., seventy-five miles from New York, Svon after the passenger trains began to run regularly through, and in the latier part of the month the freight trains were also extended through. ‘The cars and engines ordered have been received and put in requisition, the ballasting of the track nearly com- | pleted, the requisite side-tracks laid down, the station- houses erected, the buildings at Phillipsburg completed, those at Elizabethport commenced, and the contractors | settled with in full, except a few matters im dispute of | small amount.
