' Brown whirtings and sheetings are in moderate request at regular rates, stocks being light. Heavy shesti realize 7s, 4d. Bleached goods are firm, with a moderate demand, at 12a lc. Drills are active. Brown drills are rather higher, being 73; a T34c.—bleached. at 8o.; biuesde. Ornaburge are not very active. but steady in price. De- nime are rather inactive, but are firmer. as the stock is light, at 8a 8c Ticksare steady. with a ecarcity of some qualities. at $a12c. Stripes are in better demand and fir- mer. Canton flannels are in demand, and firmer, with a ht supply. Printing cloths are firmer, though the de- mani is light, as the supply is limited, Prints are active for all good qualities ; stocks are not heavy and prices are upto the highest mark of the senson—0% 99% c Gipghams are in reduced stock, and prices are well malntained—10 a 103g. Delaines are yct in steady de- masnd for country andcity trade, and the prices are firm. Cloths are rather quiet, and at steady prices, Cassimeres and ratinets are alike very active. The demand keeps up. while stocks have been reduced, rendering the market very firm. Linseys are now held at 19¢.. with fair sales. Tweeds are not plenty, while there is a fair domand at firm prices. Jeans are dull but firm. Flannels are ra- ther scarce; prices are buoyant under a quick demand. Biavkets are steady and active. Shawls are more active, butthe assortment is unusually large, and stocks do nov iminieh rapidly. French goods are still eelling freely, though to less extent than in the last few weeks. Tho stocks are rendered light by the very heavy sales, and prices of all kinds, except gloves, are well sustained. Black -ilks, as well as plaid and figured silks, are well fustalned, notwithstanding the lateness of the reason for the latter kinds Dress goods are nearly out of market but the few left are selling quickly at firm and fall prices. Cloths are in requert, and steady. French shawis are more sotive. British goods are in fair request generally, though some kinds, euch as linens, are fnsctive and leary. Woollens are more in favor of the buyer, being in better stock. The dry goods trade is yet very healthy. Payments are good.
