In Ire- jand, as well as the Western and Southern parts of weglend, tho diseago is certainly moro general than 57 been fer some eas past, and tho disorder has, within the lost eight or ten days, shown iteolf in Sootland. The malady has no doubt beon augment, ed by the wot weather, and wo fear the loss will be very seriou. In meat ot the Scotch markets, prices of whoat havo advanced this week, though not in eperpection te the rise which has taken place in the South; aud ia Ireland, quotations of wheat, Indian corn, &c., have also risen more or less, notwithstanding the pressure of potatoes on the different markets, sk fen of the article having been hurriedly brought ard, owing to the fear entertained that the di- sease niy extend to that portion ef the crop appa- rently sound when dug. We bxve again to report a small supply of wheat coastwice inte London, only 3,459 qrs. having come to hand during the week. The quantity brought forward by land carriage samples, from the home gounties has, meanwhile, been trifling. On Wednos- day, the Hssex and Kent stands were completely bare, and there were hardly any offers from the east coast. The morning bvivg very wet, more anxiety was manifested by the millers to buy, and previous prices wer» oxcceded by 1s. per qr. Tho continued rain throeghout Thursday, and the important rice which too place in consequence at some of the pro- vinoial merkets, induced seilers on Friday to insist en a forbler improvement, and quotations were about 2s. por ip. bigher at the close than thoy were in tho beginnirs of the weck. ‘the upward movemont in the value of forcign wheat has about kept pace with the rito on English. The stooks in granary were genorally in the hands of parties by ue meas over anxious to realize, and it would have been difficult to have bought fine quality at 386 per qr., frec on board, many demanding a still higher figure. . For acveral years past, the trede at thin seaaon has mot been 80 good as it now is, both as regards de- mend, prowpt payments, and woll maintained prices, ‘The woollen and silk trade, especially, bave been active, end et buoyant prices. Brown shectings and chirtings are firm, odin good demard. Bleached goods cqually eo, with an ampie supply. Drills are more active at stuady rates. Osnaburga are heid at advanced rates, with a fair demand. Denims are more active, at en advance ; nothing now offering under 8c, Ticks are in demand and steady, Btripes cell stowly, at regular prices. Canton flannels are searce and muck wanted ; prices are advancing. Printing cloths aro in fair request at 34 a 6 e., the market being steady. Prints are active, at uniform rates, Ginghams at 10 104<c,, sei briskly on arrival, without allowtng any etock to sccumulate, Deisines aze active at fuil rates, Tho supply is kept up, though the demand ailews of no accumulation. Cloths sell steady and weil, both from first and sccond hands. Soma of the Pine street houses are quite surprised at the business they aro doing. ‘Tho suppiy has improved, and prices are very regular. Cessimercs are in good request at full rates, botl for fan- clesand plain goods, Satinets are steady and active. The Gemand for (his description of goods has not flagged once im all the year, and prices have considerably advanced. Linseys are higher and sell quick at 16a 18¢, ‘Tweeds are im but limited dowend, but prices are steady, Jeans are dull, Blankets are quick at advancing rates. Flannets active and steady. Shawls are not so active, bul theee is a fair demand, snd prices are firm. The fashion at presené is running on medo up germents. Among the shawls recently exhibited, we have particularly aud pleasingly noticed a novel and beautiful srticle, manufactured at the Globe Mills, Utica, and for sale by Messrs. Moyt, Tillinghast & Co., of this city. All French millinery goods are very active. The late large importations are not in excesa of the demand, and eell quickly at highor rates, White figured and colored fancy silks are scarce; delaincs and prints also set well. Ribbons of every variety now sell freely, the demand run- ning most on plaid and narrow yelvet ribbons, Cloths are active, at good prices. The demand oomes both from the West and South, but is most active from the West. Tho trade isan early one, and the after demand will yet be large, This State trade has yot to set in, and that is equaito a very large consumption—equal to that from nearly a!l other parte cf the Union, British goods are hardly so active, but stooks are reduced, and the eupplies aie much lighter than usual; prices are firm. Cloths are the most inquired for, and delaines moderately, Cloghams are relling briskly. sinems are quict. Blankets ore active, and so éze Scoteb goods, while for all descriptions prices are well maintained, and exhibit great regulazity. ‘The carly importations have como out to so good a mar- ket that large orders have been sent out; but prices have risen, Which will prevent their being filled. We may, bowover. expect a continuance of imports under such an eneoureging demand, as goods will otherwise ron short of thedemaad for consumption, The oy auction sates tive are of carpets. There have heen large rules of Lcre, but the demand has been geod. amd at paying em tunustial for carpet sales ab auction, Ta many . lots hare been @nplicated.
