Se IMPORTANT FROM CUBA. anew The Revolutionary Mvvements on the Ieland—Namerou: Arrests of «reoles= Threatening Aspec: o! Affairs—Treaty with Emperor Soulouque, of Haytl, te Ruin Cuba, Our Havana corresponde’ ce, our files of the Diario de ta Marina, and Gaceta de la Habana, and copies of La Vor det Pueblo, organs de a independencia, brought by the Crescent City, reached us yesterday. ; One of our correspondents «t !avana has sent ws * copy of a letter received by hm from madrid, which states that arrangements are to be made with the Empe- ror of Hayti, to land an army of negroes on the island of Guba, in the event of » revolution, The Gaceta de la Hobona of the 12th inst., gives am ar- ticle on the affairs of Cuba, of which the following is summary Phe Now York Sun published, on the 26th of July, a from Cuba conveying some information relative to the clandestine journal called La Voz det Pue Blo, written by pirates and partizans or a new iavasion of the island. The Gacea de (a Hadana wrote @ long and most remarkebie articie upon that correspondence, which is treated a8 an infamous jie s firebrand for the purpose of enkredling civil war, The Sun has soon forgotien the issue of the Lopes expedition, which ended by the im- prisooment or death of ull its followers, Such impos- tures would excite Javghter if the gravity of that ques- ion would permit it ‘ ‘The insulte nd calumnies thrown upon the ladies of Cuba ere euch that we are ashamed to make a single allusion to that part oft Frespoudence ot the fame of their noble sentiments, and the honest conduct of our ladies. are #0 well kvown that we need not deferd them against these infamous calumnies which appeared in that paper. According to La Voz del Publo, nearly ail the inhabitants of the island ave engaged in that con- Spiracy, including even those who serve the adminis. tration r At least, the only thing which the Sun and Pondent Lave truly reinted, is, that the edit Voz, who write their pub on, are conti pored tothe los: of their life In that only th right, for the govermment of the island, and the re sentative of our Majesty thy Queen, are deteraine: make the nations! integrity respected, and in order to attain that aim. they will be always inexorable towerds all those who will conspire sgainst the institutions with which the inhabitants of Cuba are so much pleased The clancestine publication of a small paper o Ta Vor del Pueblo, written by some remaants hordes of Lopez. was the basis of tif correspon published in the w York Sin, The Diario dele Morina of the 13th inst., after having re- produced the article of the Gacefa, makes the following remarks :— We have but afew srguments to add. The Ts of the Sun, a journal intended only for the reading @f the lowest class of the population of New York pretends to find the opinion of Cuba in ananonymous Paper. sccretiy published by men without brains, and who do not observe any forms ofgrammatical style. But this folly does not surprise us, for such minds are de rived Of all the intelligence which distinguishes our il. iustrious and rich society. If some of the other papers Which have claims to good judgement, as the Courier an BPanquirer, wish to be the echo of such false histories, our compassion is ready to be conceded to them. Without condesending to disouss with these papers, we must rewind them that if there is any sentiment, which bas s1 ‘ways prevaiied in the bosom of the Spanish race, it is the eternal hatred of foreign domination exercised by an- other raceas avaracious, as ambitious and intolerant Before that barrier, the endeavors of a horde of virates will nover fail to be dispersed. A government like ours, established upon the iraditions of several centuries, possessing innumerable resources, and strong in the un- animous support of an energetic nation, which counts 15,000.000 of inbubitants. despises such enemies, and is al- ways ready to punich them. if it be provoked. Every jard knows how to conduct himself in the sure road honor. and will defend always, with the greatest energy. the holy cause of uationulity. OUR HAVANA CORRESPONDENCE Navana, August 14, 1852 Interesting from Cuba— Numerous Arrests by the Govern ment—The Slave Trade, ‘There being no steamer direct for New York on the Sdinstant, forwarded your despatche: via New Orleans, and a letter by a brig which sailed hence for your port on the Tih inst.
