Francis MeCabe sworn—Lived at No 30 Henry street, and worked in a soap house; knew Eliza Shanckey; she was servant to Mr. Simons, of No, 67 Eldridge strect, New York; witness identified her from his knowledge of her appearance. and by a pattern of her dress which he had with him; had no doubt it was her body; she was born in Ireland, and was about 26 years of age; she has a sister in New York, who works at her poodle! witness worked for Mr Kirkman, soapmaker, father inlaw of Mr. Simons, and who sent him for the body. It was found to day. At this stage of the proceedings the inquest was ad- journed for an hour. INQUEST IN THE CITY. Coroner Ives yesterday held an inquest, atthe Hud- son River Kajircad station, on the bodies of the two children brought to this city, from the wreck ef the Heury Clay, on the evening of the calami ty. The child named John Murray, aged one year apd twenty days, was the son of Mr. Murray, of Chicago, who jumped overboard from the burning boat with the child in his arms, and was making for the shore, when rome of the passengers clung to him, forcing bim to loore the hold of his child, and before he could re- cover it again it was se much cxbausted that it died shortly after. The other child was that of Howard I, Simous. aged two years, son of Mr Simons, a resident of this city. Mrs, Kirkman, of No. 67 Eldridge street, and Susan Thornton, of No, 11 Spring street. both testified to the identity of the child, it seems that the deceased aid bis mother left Albany on board the ill fated boat, ond, at the time of the calamity, the mother was saved, apd the poor child was drowned. The jury rendered a verdict in each case as follows :—‘ That the said Howard 41, Simons and John Murray came to their deaths by drowning. at Yonkers, on the 28th instant, by the de- struction of the steamboat Henry Cla: FINDING OF THE BODY OF THE HON. THE SURVIVORS AT THE HOTELS. INCIDENTS, BTC. 'W. B. Prescott and family, of Louisiana, are still at the Waverley Hotel, They are all deing remarkably well. Mr. Prescott was comsiderably brui-ed, aud sprained his left thamb in his efforts to save his niece and wife, The party wore all fortunately saved. Mrs. Pre:cott came off without harm ; her nieoe, Miss Tuoker, was somewhat hurt by her fall, er rather leap, from the bow of the boat to the shore. Young J, W. Prosoots got onshore without injury Dir J. H. Randolph, of Louisiana, is also at the Wa- verley ; he eceuped without injury. Boch Mr. Prescott and Mr Randelph have received a communication from. the secretary of the Astor House mevting. requesting them to make out a list of their lowes, xud forward them to him, in order that prosecutions for damages may be at once comfienced.
