Axnasy, August 27, 1851 Entarging the Capiicl—The Supply of Water—Mugnani- mity of the Whigs in Reference to the Canal Contracts. The arrangements im relation to the plans, &e., for erecting & fire proof State library building and enlarging the Capitol for the better accommodation of the Lezisia- ture, are complete, and workmen have commenced break- ing ground for the purpose. The Assembly chamber is to be extended to the rear about 20 feet the whole width; the Bpeaker’s desk will be removed to that extent, and suffi- cient room will thus be furnished for members without being in constant annoyance by a crowd of specta tors and lobby idlers. The contractors have entered into bonds, ereuring its completion in season for use by ‘the next Legislature.
