IMPORTANT FROM CUBA. Arrival of the Bark Nacoochee from Neu: vitas—One Week Later from the Seut of War. ‘The bark Nacoochee, Capt. Thorp, arrived yesterdsy from Neuvitas, Cuba, whence she salled on the 26th ult Our previous advices from that place were to the 17th, and wore brought by the schooner Pauline. “The news is not vory fuyorable to the cause of the revolutionists. Neuvitas 1s one of the northern ports of the eastern end of Cuba, and about eighty miles from Puerto Prin- cipe. It es at the foot of the infected district. News therefore, from that place, is likely to be more reliable than when received through Havana. We have received by the Nacoochee, a short lettor from our Neuvitas correspondent, of the 2ith, and @ copy of Ki Funal, pablished at Puerto Principe, of tho 18th ult. Annexed is OUR NUEVITAS CORRESPONDENCE. Nonviras, July 24, 1851. Lonelose the Fanal, of Puerto Principe, of the 18th inet, It contains an official report of the battle of San Carlos; also, the proclamation of the pardon granted by the government. ‘This revolution, of whioh you have probably been in- undated with accounts, was badly planned and badly «executed, a8 the rising was not general. ‘Tho official ao- Count of the battle is not altogether correct. The troops jet seven killed; the number of the wounded is un- known. The natives had three killed and three wound- ed. The firing lasted three hours, or until night closed in. when the troops retired. The revolutionists, twenty- four in all, were commanded by Aguero y Aguero. The troops numbered one hundred infantry and twenty-five lancers. This is the revolutionists’ Awol ond I have Feason to bel‘eve itis nearly corre lamation of pardon a had some effect. wo of the ireurgents presented themselves to the Go- vernor of this port on the 21st inst., and are now pri- voners. It is expected that sll who come in and prosent themselves wili be pardoned. There are now only six, including their chief, Joaquin de Ay “4 ¥ Aguero, out iu Ube Woods, and these are surrow y tr. It is sald that they ere reduced to the com of delivering themeelves up or perishing with hunger. In my opinion, the insurrection is at sn end for the present. BUCKSHOT. We are informed that tho natlyos have lost all hopes for s while at lesst. The movement bas inoreaced thy feeling of ho+tility among the Spaniards against the Americans, at whose door the whole affair is laid. It was said at Nucvitas that the wholo movement was shook- ingly mansged—that by mistake in the password, in at- tacking the Governcr’s house at Los Tunas, the patriots sotusliy fired upon ech other and killed seven of their own party.
