Yesterday being the day after the celebration, | the village continued to be filled with the agricultu- | rl population from the surrounding country, seve- ral of (hem being drunk and fighting. Stages were passing in and out, loaded with visiters, many of whom seemed to be beside themselves with excite- ment. ‘They crowded to the wharves to look at the steamboats, and opened their eyes in amazement, never having seen a steamboat in their lives before. ‘They were equally astonished at the railroad care; | and altogether they were in extacies.
