Discharge of the Alleged Fugitive—Great Rejorcing among the Colored Folke—The Loss of the Pro- puller Baltimore, §. ‘The fugitive slave case came toa very sudden close last evening, contrary to gensral expectation The witnesses for the prisoner testified positively to her having lived in Newtown township, Chester | county, Pa, about 1825, where she buried two children. Three of them testified to this fact, and persisted in it, notwithstanding the cross-examina- tion to which they were subjected. The counsel for the claimant iuaving nothing to controvert these taets, the judge decided that she must be di: charged. She was accordingly given up by the officers who had her in custody, and, with her family, was conveyed away in triumph. The res- cued family were first taken to the Philaaelphia Institute, in Lombard street, the head quarters of the colored folks, where, after a scene of great ea- thusiesm, they were put into a vehicle, and a long rope being attached to it, the colored men har- nessed themselves to it @ (a Fanny Elssler, and dragged their precious load through the city, huz- zaing and singing. In passing the hotel where the claimant puts up, they gave expression to three sees. So has ended this affair.
