MONEY MARKET. Barvapar, Nov. 23—6P. M. ‘The stock market opened quite buoyant this mern- img. All the leading fancies advanced « frastion, and the bears have made the discovery that the bulls are the strongest just now. Erie Railroad has passed the Rubicon, amd operators fer a rise, doubtless, imagine that the advance will be considerably beyond that point, All the bears have to do isto pursue the same steady, straight forward course, which has thus Lal Ir ebarecterized their movements this season, and enter- tain no fears as the result. Prices for stocks general- ly, will, without doubt, hereafter range higher than they havetor mamy years past; but there will from time to time, doubtless, be the usual fluctuations, and | as wide a margin for expansions and contractions, as im former years. At the first board, to-day, Erie Rail- | Toad advanced 3 per cent; Reading Railroad, \{; Mor- | ¥%; Portsmouth Dry Book, X; | ris Canal, 4; Hi Farmers’ Loan, X. Long Island fell off { per cent. In relation to the operations in the Boston stock market, the Courier, of that city, says:—Day by day money is becoming gradually easier of access. Cun- siderable sums are now lent outside of the banks, at the rate of six per cent interest; and on good collateral security it cam be readily obtained at seven. Ogdens- burgh Railroad 7 per cent mortgage bonds were sold | yesterday at 98 per cent, and the shares at $40, which is eighty per cent upon the par of $50. .Western Rail- road stock, upon the eve of a four per cent dividend, is hesitating im the market at $104; Northern, at $6834; Providence, at $86%; Old Colony, at $6034; Central, at $33%; Vermont and Massachusetts, at $3034; Wil- mington, at $29%(; East Boston Company, at $18; and Edgeworth Land Company, $7%4. Some of these quo~ tations appear to be ridiculously low to those who, upon thorough investigation, are fully satisfied that their intrinsic merits are far above the present public appreciation. A repudiator of a time stock contract with a member of the broker’s board, was, yesterday, | | publiely posted upon the stock sales bulletin, at the | Merchante’ Reading Room. ‘The transactions in printing cloths, in the Providence market, during the past week, we! annexed:—5,000 pieces 60x68, 28 inches, extra, 54; 5,000 pieces, 64x68, 28 inches, 55{; 12.000 pieces, 60x64, 23 inches, 5; 3,000 pieces, 60x64, 28 inches, 47; 12,500 pieces, 60x64, 28 inches, private terms; 5,000 pieces, 56x60, 28 inches private terms; 1,000 pieces, 52x56, 28 inches, 4; 1,500 MMeoes, 52x56, 23 inches, 434; 3,000 pleces, 48x52, 273¢ | inches, 44;—total, 48,000 pieces.
