Atthe first board, to-day, Erie bonds (new) declined 1; por cent. Brie Income bonds \; United States 6's, 1807, 44; Minois @'s<. The market closed heavy, with a downward tendeney in pric ‘The receipts at the office of the Assistant Treasurer of this port, to-day, amounted to $91,800 53; pay- ments, $22,202 11; balance, $5 595.414 86 The demand for manufacturing stocks at the East continues limited, and prices rule very low. Most of the companies have a large amount ot goods on hand, which bas been stored for better prices Notwith- standing the partial suspension of many mills, the new mills, commenced some time since, are being pro- secuted to completion. The amount of canal tolls received at Toledo, for the month of July, 1850, was $7,071 21; same month in 1849, $4,755 25; increase July, 1850, $2515 93, This is a very heavy increase, when it is considered that the present year, thus far, has been oue of the worst evr known for the carrying trade. The short wheat crop last year, it was suppored, would greatly reduce the business of this canal this year. The excoss is, therefore, more gratifying, and promises well for the future, The crop this year, in the Miami and Wabash valleys, is very large, and must find markets through Toledo, ‘The earnings of the Georgia Central Railroad, for the month of July, were $33.160 81; corresponding month Jast year, $22 525 87; increase this year, $10,634 94. The Amereased income was derived principally from freight. ‘The Chesbire Railroad Company have accepted the Jaw passed by the late New Hampshire Legislature, which provides that no railroad company in that State shall be exonerated from the payment of its bonds and obligations, on account of discount made to the credi- tor im purchasing the bond. The corporation is thus prevented from settling up the difference of usury against any claims ef creditors. The works to connect the various railroads from the eoal mines with the Chesapeake and Ohio canal basins ‘at Cumberland, are nearly finished. Cars have already parsed over the continuation of the Maryland Mining Company's road, which will afford several other com- panies an outlet to the canal. The Mount Savage Com- pany are rapidly constructing their wharves, and by the — eanal opens, will be ready to accommodate all th panics that may wish access to tl ual = direction.
