The Cuta Correspondence—The Prisoners—A Speck of War from the Antilles, $e. $e. ‘We transmitted to the Herald to-day, some briof out- lines of the late Cuba correspondence, down to the 1st inst. From this correspondence it appears that Mr. Calderon de Ia Barca has constantly kept Mr. Clayton advised of the movements of the invaders. On hearing of the departure of the invading forco, he tells Mr. Clayton, and desires the statement to be recorded, that the Captain General of Cuba is prepared to punish the pirates, and that no mercy will be shown to thom, der any apperl whatsoever. Apprebensive of trouble, Mr. Clayton, on the 90th ult'mo, addressed a letter to Mr. Campbell, our Consul ot Ilavana, instructing him in reference to such Ame- rican prisoners as may have been captured by the Spaniaide on the high seas, or on or near some Moxi- con island ‘(off Yucatan) as contradistinguished from sueb prisoners as have been seized in the actual invation of Cuba. ith regard to the former, M Clayton instructs Mr. Campbell to demand for them a tnir trial according to the laws of nation id so forth. t of June, (last Saturday.) Mr. Clayton ad- dresses another letter to Mr. Campbell. in which ao increased anxiety is manifested for the first class of prisoners above-mentioned, and very particular in- structions ee to Mr. Campbell to see that a dis- tinction is made between such prisoners as were cap- tured in the commission of a crime against the autho- rity of Spain, and those captured under the appearances of av intention to commit such crime.
