Bioners’ Report, that the surplus funds of the several Banks tn Hartford, after their last dividends, were as Mellows :—Hbartford, $156,307 32, (eapital §1,134;600 ;) Pheonix, $184,213 66, (capital $1,285,600 ;) Farmers’ and Mcenanics’ $82,987 41, (capital $557.100;) Exebange 934,770 €2, (capital $535,000;) Conuecticut River, $14,- ‘198 01, (eapital $250,000) The State Bank has a eapital of $279,855 paid in, and its earnings sinee it has been in ‘operation, up to April 1, were $20,871 95. ‘Bho Treasurer of Allegheny city has remitted to the Bank of Pennsylvania the full amount of the interest 6x the bonds of that eity, dueon the lat of July next. ‘Nhe Kiehmond, Frederieksburg and Potomac Rail- vead, for the year ending Ist April, realised an ad- vanee of $40,000 over the income of the preceding year. On the seme road, during the month of April last past, ‘there wins a further increase of $3,000 over the corres- ponding mouth of the preceding year. ‘The fifteenth annual report of the Nashua and Lowell Bailroad Company, shows the receipts from passengers @uriog the year ending on the Ist ult., to be $60,091 from merchandise, $74,251 17; and from other sources, 921,504 59— making a total of receipts $15,646 74, The @isburcements during the came period, including two @ividends, one of five and the other of four per cent, ‘Were $155,046 75. The number of miles run was 59522. Whole uumber of passengers, 235,675. Number of tons ‘f freight, 170,881. Thy whole number of men employed iseighty-nine. The Stony Brook road is leased by the Mashua and Lowell, and the report of the latter in- eludes the operations of the former during the year, It appears that during the last two months, the number f passengers carried over the Nashua and Lowell by the Btony Brook trains, was 8.806, and the number of pas- aengers to and from Chelmsford, was 1,415—the pro- eeeds from the whole being $586 30. The earnings of the road during a period of twenty-two months, includ- ing the above amount, were $58 249 15, and the expen- itures during the same period were $59,304 92. ‘The New Orleans Crescent says that there ig no dan- ger ofan overflow on the Red River, but most of the planters have planted three times in consequence of the ecld, long contiaued rains. Cotton blooms in the last of May or first of June, but this year the planters are now seraping. The plant is six weeks behind time, Whe caterpiller, late in September even, will prove most disastrous, ‘The books of the Vermont Central Railroad Com- pany have been forwar/ed from Boston to this city, and will be opened at the Bank of the State of New Yor! Whe object of this movement is to have the stock entered upon the books of the Board of Brokers, and to put it into the speculative whirlpool of Wall street. ‘Fhe last quotation in Bostom was 28}; per cent., and a few days will suffice to show what the effect of this mevement will be, There is a considerable amount of floating stock on the market, and a small advance . ‘would doubtless bring cut much more. . Speculators im Wall street have as much as they can do to take eare of Erie, Harlem and Reading Railroads, without taking another on their shoulders. The annual report of the Boston and Providence Bailroad Company has just been issued, in which it e@ppesrs that the receipts of the last year have fallen off $15,555 84, and that the expenses have been re- Geced nearly $8,000. The present debt of the com- pany, including the unadjusted land damages, and the bends issued about one year ago, on five years, at 6 per eent, and which were sold under par (of $207,000) amounts, as estimated by the directors, to about $300,000. The eompany own land in Roxbury, Canton, ‘and Pawtueket, valued at $25,000, which is not needed for the purposes of the road, and $40,000 in the eapital stock of the Stoughton Branch Railroad. ‘The receipts for the year ending July 1, estimating ‘the months of May and June the same as last year, ‘Will amountto.... aeeee $348,870 93 And the expenses, including interest. ° 179,870 98 Leaving net income $169,000 00 ‘It is stated that the July dividends will not be over 23; per eent, in consequence of which the stock has fallen to £0%—a decline of 2 per cent in one week. ‘The annexed statement exhibits the quantity of eertain articles exported from this port for the week ending the 28th inst., distinguishing the extent of shipments to cach place:— @ommence oy tux Port New Yoru—Werutr Ex- la, London. oS 405 ton ; rosin, 270 bbls ; ne, 4.168 d 420 pipes: port wine, 900 800 do, 00 eases; oil Tabet int, | axphaitum, 90 casts; , 95 bales; hemp, 49 do’; sarsapariila, 12 do. ‘ ; tobeseo, 6 hhds. tobacco, 3 cas j whalebone, 20.008, do.; — To ‘Howe. een PN eames ae bu 0 ore. 0, re, es; ‘whalebone, 9,971 1bs.; rosin, 1.060 bbts. The improve- ment reported in the Rnglish market has not yet been Mcieft to cause shipments from this side, and we mach doubt if our domestic supply is large enough to permit exportation beyond the moderate amount now going on. We have previously shown there is every probability of a scarcity of bresdetuffs for even our own conrumption this year, and we shall, therefore, be Hittle benefitted by any advarce in prices on the other side, From the opening of lake navigation up to the close of the third work in May, the falling off in re- ecipte at Buffalo, amounts to about 100,000 bbis. flour ‘and 600,000 bushels wheat. ‘tee © ae ee do 'S) Mod'n River RR 72 joo TS 6s, 1 I Bho Read WR i 7 she fethe B 108 sa 0 Bk full, woo 78 19) OND BOARD, Mi ehe w 2 1 Canton Co en do 100 do oe re’ Trust BOO Po Harlem RR 100 Reading RR ADVERTISEMENTS RENEWED RVERY DAY, PUBLICATIONS, nome lished by ¥o. “4 Jone iti?
