The whole amount of the company’s Mabilities, including the capital stock, is $9,121,580. ‘The report recommends the adoption of the follow- ibg plan for the eetilement of arrears and aceruiag in- terest: — Firet, That certificates of indebtedness seal Ry issued for the interest due on the common loa 1, 1549, to be paid by three equal instalment: first day of Pawn hn 1861, 1552 and 1853; said cercit- cates to bear po interest. The amount thus to be Nquidated is $175,267 77. Second, To irsue certificates ot capital stock of the company at par, for interest due on the eommon loans, from Janu 1, 1649. to January 1, 1560, inclusive, The amount of such certificates will be $297 257. ‘Third. To pay out of the net income of 1350, which will be left after discharging the current expons corrent liabilities for the year, the balance o: floating debts, and the interest on the old mort loans. in full, much fn cash on account of the in- terest on the common loans, which will fall due Jaly 1, 1860 and January 1, 1851, a8 such net income will justify, and settle the remainder in certificates of capital stock at par. At a general weeting of the stockholders, held on the Tth inst., the above plan was unanimously adopted. A loan of $100,000 is recommended, for the purpose of constructing boats to supply the deficit occasioned by throwing boats out of service, and to meet thé anticipated wants of an increased trade. An increase Of fifty boats over the supply of 1849, would enable the company to carry from 650,000 to 700,000 tons of coal per um. The maximum cargo of the barges was 187 tens. Freights during the year averaged 70 cents to Philadelphia, and $1 75 to New York, including the 60 cents toll on the Delaware and Raritan Canal, and fer the rteam towing on the rivers. {tis the opinion of the management that the works of the company will, in ort time, yield a revenue sufficient to pay the interest on the whole amount of stock and indebtedness, The repert of the trustees of the Wabash and Erie Capa), made te the Legislature of Indiana, presents the xed statement of receipts and expenditures for the year ending December 1, 1849: — From tolls end wat From the la Joterert on Bendholuers: $OB4 VoL Add amount on hand et lest report........, 2688 $008,133 pended on account of . + « $996.490 pairs, interest on loan, contingercles........
