M. ‘The cotton market was more buoyant to-day, and higher prices were paid than were ourrent yesterday. It was believed by many that the Canada’s news was in the hands of speculators, whieh led to the large trans actions, they reaching not far short of 5,000 bales, which were taken mostly for shipping. In flour there was no’ se much doing, though the prices did not vary much from those obtained yesterday. Canadian brands were, if anything, a shade firmer; Southern desoriptions were t without importamt change. Rye flourcon- tinued in steady demand while meal was neglected. the sales were oon- fined mostly to Canadian, at rather easier figures. American parcels were firmly held.
