Agaregate.. ae . Errors in tho above estimate will be coerveted on adequate authority. The Presidential Elcction—The Popular Vote. We present to the readers of the Herald, to-day, the details of the official result ot the late Presi- dential election, in each of the States of the Union, with a few exceptions as to the new States of Tuwa, Texas, and Floiida. From those States, however, the official aggregates are known, so that we are enabled to give a general recapita- lation, by States, with more nice accuracy than has heretofore been 1n our power. When it is considered that the election for elec- tors of President and Vice President took place on the 7th of November, only forty-five days since, and the vast extent of the United States, with thel, numerous election districts, are also considered, it may well excite surpfise among our own citi- zens, : 8 well as strangers, that we are enabled to present the vast body of political statistics whick appears in our paper to-day, at a period compara- tively early. Here is the result of the politicay thoughts and actions of nearly three millions of voters of this great republic, who, on the 7th of November, peaceably performed the act of choosing their highest executive officersy and the details are collected from a surface of two millions of square males, and published in forty-five days after the election. We have endeavored, throughout th’s campaign, to jlace the Herald in the first rank, as a medium of political mtelligence; and the statistics we now give, we can commend as reliable for future re- ference. ah es Tur. CioLRRa ITEMENT.—It seems that another case of Asiatic cholera has been reported as having occurred in Washington street, within a day or two past. The official announcement is very brief on this point, and many of our citizens are unable to credit that it really was Asiatic cholera. In euch reports a little more fulness would be desirable; and, with all due respect to the gentleman who made the announcement, we would ask for information as to who the man was? what were his habits? how long was he sick ? what was the treatment adopted? &c.&c.
