Monday, March 13.6 P. Bi. The Mexican treaty, as ratified by the Senate of the United States, published exclusively in the Herald this morning, had a very favorable influence upon the stock murket, and prices generally improved. At the first board Treasury notes advanced % per cent; Pennsylva- nia 5’s, 3; Long Island,1; Canton %; Farmers’ Loan, 3; Harlem, ; Reading Railroad fell off 4; all others closed at prices current on Saturday. At the sseond board, Harlem advanced 1 per cent; Iili- nois Special, 1; Morris Cansl *4, with sales only toa moderate extent, ‘The market closed with an upward tendency, and we see nothing likely to prevent a very great rise in almost every stock in the list. Money is at present tight, but as there is no earthly reason why it should be, there must be achange seon. A rise of from five to ten per cent in all the leading stocks would have been realized upon the announcement of the ratification of the treaty, had there been no cause for the course the banks are pursuing in relation to loans and discounts. ‘The State Bank of Saugerties and the Northern Ex- ohange Bank, have resumed, and their bilisare redeemed in Wall street at the usual discount.
